The cave paintings at Ana Kai Tangata

Close to Hangaroa, there is a cave called Ana Kai Tangata.  Inside the caves are the remnants of intricate cave painting.  Little remains of the paintings, as years of water damage, erosion of the rock, and perhaps people taking souvenirs, have destroyed both the rock canvas, and the paintings.

I would have liked to see these paintings when they were originally painted.

As a trivia note, this cave is the one in the movie "Rapa Nui" where the heroine's father makes a boat. The hero and heroine use the boat to flee Rapa Nui at the end of the movie.
