The Quarry, Volcan Rano Raraku

This is another view as we walk up the slope of Rano Raraku, looking at one of the many quarry "workshops".  Unfinished Moai litter the ground, stuck in the ground at haphazard angles, patiently waiting to be finished.

I saw fifty or sixty Moai here, and the books say there are between one hundred and two hundred at Rano Raraku.
