Explaining the mysteries at Ahu Tongariki

This is the Moai that greeted us when we arrived at Ahu Tongariki.  It doesn't face the quarry, and it is much smaller than the rest of the Moai at this Ahu.  Some of my friends had suggested that I hadn't been taking enough "people" pictures, and they were right.  

I like this picture, it has lots of movement and energy.  The people add perspective and make the picture come alive.  This was a good learning for me, not that every picture needs someone in it.  But many pictures work so much better by adding people into them.
