A Flower in Anchorage

It's the 4th of July!  Ursula and Steve took me to the 4th of July celebration in downtown Anchorage.  It was very festive, and the people watching was superb.

After we returned, I tried to take some pictures of Flattop mountain from the distance (which didn't work) and found a large bier of these flowers (I though they were roses, but now I'm not 100% sure).  The honey bees were having a field day on these flowers, and I had fun taking pictures of both the flowers and the bees.
