Fishing, hunting and sightseeing are some of the major tourist attractions in Alaska.  There are many float planes (and pilots) in Alaska taking people places, and the pilots make a living in the summer months. I understand there is more salmon runs for the fisherpeople (sorry, a politically correct word) in the various parts of Alaska then most anywhere else in North America or the world.

I ate salmon most days during my 2 weeks in Alaska and it was easily the best I have ever had.  I think the only other time I had fish that I enjoyed so much was on Isla Tacquile in Lago Titicaca in Peru / Bolivia.
